The 2017 edition of The Greatest Homecoming on Earth is in the books and I’m sure you will agree it seems to get bigger and better every year. A friend of mine sent me this quote and I believe it captures the essence of what Homecoming means to Aggies.
Homecoming at an HBCU is not just a homecoming.
It is a family reunion, a block party,
a cookout, a kick back, a fashion show,
a festival, a black power rally,
a revival, an oasis, a physical and
spiritual baptism in blackness.

For me, Homecoming is a time to pledge to do more to ensure the pride we all share for our alma mater will be here for years to come for others to experience. It is our obligation as alumni to lead the way in the effort to ensure North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University continues to grow and maintain our status as a top ranked HBCU in the nation. We can accomplish this by continuing to give our time, talents and treasures to the institution of higher learning that gave so much to us. Encourage other Aggies to do the same and help us reach our goal for alumni giving for the Aggie Alumni National Convention in June 2018.
As the largest HBCU in the country, we should also be able to boast that we have the largest percentage of alumni that give. Let’s make that our goal by Preeminence 2020. There is no doubt we can do this so let’s all commit to make it happen.
Aggies Lead, Aggies Give, Aggies Do!
With Aggie Pride,
