March has been a very exciting month for North Carolina A&T State University. On March 9, 2017, we celebrated our 126th year of educating exceptional students, preparing them for a global workforce. We will officially celebrate Founders Day on campus Thursday, March 23 at 10:00 AM. The speaker for the convocation will be Professor Lucinda Roy, novelist, poet, and non-fiction writer. Please join me in congratulating the following fellow alumni who will be recognized at convocation for their outstanding work and accomplishments:
Anzio Williams ’94 – College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences
Donna James ’79 – College of Business and Economics
Geoffrey Foster ‘ 90 – College of Science and Technology
Melody Chalmers ’98 – College of Education
Hugene Fields, Jr. ’79 – College of Engineering
Dr. Janice Brewington ’70 – College of Health and Human Services

On March 13, Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook founder and CEO, was the featured speaker for the inaugural Chancellor’s Town Hall. The University received tremendous positive media coverage of this groundbreaking event. Our students did a stellar job and had very poignant questions for Mr. Zuckerberg. On March 14, the College of Engineering hosted Dennis Bushnell, chief scientist at NASA, for the Dean’s Distinguished Seminar Series. These are just a few reasons why your financial support of scholarships and research are needed so our students can continue to have experiences like these and many more. Aggies Give!
On a personal note, I want to thank the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference for recognizing me as the 2017 MEAC Distinguished Alumna for North Carolina A&T. On March 9, during the MEAC basketball tournament, alumni from each member institution were honored. Aggies Achieve, Aggies DO!
With Aggie Pride,
