In May 2015, the alumni association approved a revised Constitution and By-Laws that incorporates language UNC Policy 600.2.5.2 [r] regarding university-associated entity relationships and also reinstates regional activity.
The major changes to the association will include:
- Reinstating Regions: The regional program provides opportunity for engaging alums that cannot be provided solely from Greensboro from the Office of Alumni Relations staff. The regional program partners the resources of a central office with the energy and connections of alumni within the regions to deliver services and programs to alumni in the region.
- Membership Dues Structure: Implementing a formal membership dues structure will allow the Alumni Association to achieve greater Aggie involvement in alumni activities and financial participation. The dues structure will include expanded local and national discounts, enhanced services and events catered to alumni.
- Restructures the Board of Directors: The new board will evolve to become more inclusive of all university governing entities and current students. The board will be global citizens, improving our international awareness, bringing the tools that will inform alumni of ways to engage on campus while reducing redundancies and seeking preeminence.
The changes to the alumni association are aimed at ensuring that we provide unique opportunities to engage alumni and encourage them to socialize with old friends, network with A&T business contacts, and give back to the community virtually and around the world.
